Fertilization Program

Our Program:

Early Spring

During this application your lawn is treated with a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent crabgrass germination, a balanced slow release fertilizer to provide the grass the nutrients needed as it comes out of winter dormancy, and any active weeds are treated.

Late Spring

During this application your lawn is treated with  a pre and post emergent crabgrass preventer to prevent crabgrass germination and control newly germinated plants , a balanced slow release fertilizer to provide the grass the nutrients needed during this period of rapid growth, and any active weeds are treated.  During this visit we will also inspect your lawn for disease and insect activity.

Summer

During this application your lawn is treated with  a season long grub control , a surface insect control, a balanced slow release fertilizer with iron, and any active weeds are treated.  During this visit we will also inspect your lawn for disease and insect activity.

Late Summer

During this application your lawn is treated with a balanced slow release fertilizer with iron to help the grass recover from the stress of summer and any active weeds are treated.  During this visit we will also inspect your lawn for disease and insect activity.

Fall

During this application your lawn is treated with  a balanced slow release fertilizer to encourage root growth and prepare the grass for winter.  At this point any remaining weeds are treated and a final inspection for insect activity is performed.

Lime

During this application your lawn is treated with calcitic lime to maintain your soil pH.

Our Products:

We use granular fertilizers in our programs.  These fertilizers are a high quality professional grade product and feature slow release nutrients to keep your lawn nourished for a longer time with fewer applications.  We use liquid post emergent herbicides to control active weeds.  Liquids allow us to specifically target and achieve faster control of weeds. This reduces the amount of pesticides applied to your lawn, which reduces potential stress to turf grasses and environmental impact.

Why fertilize?

Fertilization programs provide your lawn with the nutrients it needs to maintain a lush healthy appearance.  As your lawn  grows and thickens weeds are naturally displaced by the grass and your turf becomes more durable and resistant to damage.

The importance of lime:

Annual lime applications are an essential element to an effective lawncare programs.  Soil in this area is known to be naturally acidic and this can cause nutrients to bind to the soil.  Lime will reduce this acidity and release these nutrients increasing turf, promoting a richer color and increasing your lawns tolerance to heat and drought.  A ferltilization program is not complete without a lime application and we highly recommend them.
